Dawn on the Camino de Santiago

There is nothing more I enjoy while on the Camino that waking up before the sun rises on a clear sky. I do my very best to start my day before the sun is up. Then I take a few minutes to watch it peak over the horizon. When it’s wet and windy that’s a different story but this post isn’t about the wind and the rain!

I have walked along the meseta twice and many a time have I been the first out of the albergue. If you do plan on doing this, my advise is to make sure you have your bag ready to go for the morning and avoid any noise! I saw my favourite sunrise on the hills of Atapuerca before I entered Burgos in 2015.
