So in my previous post, I mentioned that I had 126 days to wait until I boarded my flight to Madrid. To fill in that gap, I have started a countdown of sorts over on my instagram account. Every day up to my day of departure, I will post a photo from a previous Camino…a memory. I’ve even created a hashtag to celebrate this event: #125daycountdown.
Anything to pass the time eh? 🙂
I will be on the lookout for them!

We leave tomorrow morning and have started packing. We’re walking the Primitivo and very excited. Our second trip to Spain in a year but our first time on Camino. So excited! I’ll follow you. I hope to post along the way as well and already have a few posts about my planning experience, including my packing list. Buen Camino

Hi there! The Primitivo! I believe this is one of the more tougher but beautiful trails. I have been following someone on Instagram as she walks the Primitivo. Wow..the views are out of the world. I’ll keep an eye on your blog as you walk. Buen Camino!

Just wanted to come back and say that the Primitivo was a great hike. My only regret was wearing Merrell hiking shoes instead of real hiking boots. We plan to go back next April and instead of doing it in 14 days-taking 17 or 18 days. We missed too much because the stages were long and by the time we got the town at 3pm, did laundry, took a shower, and ate-well, it was almost time to go to bed 🙂
Was it tough? Not by wilderness backpacking standards. Some hills were pretty steep and we took them slower. But what we found made the trail hard was the road walking. asphalt or even compacted gravel is very hard on the feet. Much easier walking on dirt.
Hopefully walking in April will be much cooler than the heat we encountered between May 14-27th. 🙂

Thanks so much for your comment. May can be hot and I experienced that heat in 2015 while on the Frances. It’s good to know you enjoyed it overall. It’s a trail I am considering but I hope to walk the Celtic Camino from A Coruna next year and the Portugues the following.
