This is what you get when you shoot a scene from Die Hard or Mission Impossible in Dublin city. I vaguely remember hearing of a film crew shooting a scene here but didn’t know it would turn out like this. It’s brilliant..although I can only imagine how long it took to clean up the mess. By the way, the Luas is not real.
I reguarly receive spam posts which are blocked from my blog. Some are trying to sell me something, others are asking me to visit their virus-ridden website. However, this one just made me laugh. I hope the person who wrote this stands up and pats themselves on the back!
“certainly like your website but you have to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very bothersome to tell the reality nevertheless I will certainly come back again”
It’s the time of the year when music and film gurus sit down and create lists of their favourite films and songs or albums. Most I take with a grain of salt while others, like Pitchfork or Drowned in Sound, I pay attention to. This is pretty early but I thought I would get in there before the big guns released their respective lists.
So this is just a list of music I have listened to most frequently in 2012. There is no order this at all, so have a listen and let me know what you think.
I have four things going on at the moment..each in my mind at one point of the day. The thing is, I don’t know what is priority. Maybe you guys can help:
Firstly, I have had a mortgage approved (go me!) and have started to browse some local properties. Some interest me, most don’t…but I have given this a considerable amount of time. I hope to have this wrapped up before February or March.
Secondly, I have been given a transfer to another section within my company. This is a whole new ball game for me and is a challenge, but with time, I should be comfortable with it.
Next, I have signed up for a resit of my life assurance exam in January..two months away..and I just can’t fail this again. But at the same time, I can’t get complacent like I usually get.
And finally, I am planning a return to the Camino de Santiago in May 2013. Another 300km and would like to use this as a reward for achieving all the above. This is taking most of my time though!
Some one said to me to concentrate on one..get it sorted and when it has been finished or out of the way, then I should work on the next goal. That’s a good way to be, because at the moment I am juggling all of the above and not giving any the time they deserve.
The next few posts will be about my final few days in June on the Camino, Here goes nothing. The difference between these and the other posts is I wrote no notes or took many pictures. So these words are all from memory.
Right! It’s that time of the year again! The time of the year I become one with nature and at the same time do my bit for charity. From the start of November, I plan to throw away the razor blade and the shave gel..and grow some upper lip facial hair. All for a good cause of course. I will update this page regularly, even posting pictures along the way. I always ask myself where would I be without music in my life. Could I go about my day and not have the radio on, or fire up iTunes and play it at full volume? Or even walk down a busy street singing with glaring looks. It certainly would make things a little bleak if I didn’t have it. I look back over 25 or so years since I picked up a radio and try to make sense of all the bad tastes I used to have. (Wet Wet Wet were a favourite at one stage folks!) And if you told me even ten years ago what I would be listening to today, I would have laughed at my future self.
But I’ve always had a liking for this song below. Neil Finn has been around a very long time in various bands and formations. Four Seasons In One Day will always be high up on the iTunes DJ playlist. While it is written about the city of Melbourne, I used consider it about my various moods changes from back in the 90s..(insert groan!)
