Happy Weekend folks and I hope you are having a good one. The sun is out here in Dublin and if it remains the same tomorrow, I’m seriously tempted to head for the hills. Anyway, my next Weekend Watch is from Carl Pople. He walked in May and June of this year, around the same time as me. I recognised alot of the sights in the clip and the choice of Home by Edward Sharpe as music is perfect. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
This video has only popped up on YouTube in the last few days and has already had over 1000 views. Not bad. You will see why when you watch it. The uploader has asked fellow pilgrims to tell him or her of one word to describe their Camino in their own language. There are people from all over the world on it, including a few Irish. It makes me want to throw on my backpack and head off again. You can find more information about this project on onewordcamino.com. Enjoy!
In 2013, a young man from the UK walked from St Jean to Finistere over 4 weeks as part of a summer backpacking trip around Europe. This video gives you an insight into those few weeks.
First of all, I am writing at the start of a Bank Holiday weekend here in Ireland. I also have decided to take Tuesday off from work. This is a perfect reason to enjoy the outdoors. Let’s hope the weather improves as it has been pretty poor lately here.
In honour of the long week, the next weekend watch is an extra-long installment. In the Summer of 2014, Luke Darracott walked part of the Camino Norte and the full Camino Francés and uploaded a daily journal to YouTube. I have posted the Camino Francés clips. The clips are well put together.
Before the New Year, I wrote about Andrew’s Suzuki’s “Don’t Stop Walking” series on YouTube. It is a 6 part prequel to his upcoming documentary about his 2014 Camino. You can view this series on YouTube here. I found it to the point and entertaining at the same time. His documentary “Beyond The Way” is nearly complete but before uploading this to YouTube, he has released a prologue. Watch this below.
